Salisbury Junior Jamie Farley and Freshman Imani Hasell Sweep CAC Women's Track & Field Weekly Honors
FREDERICKBURG, Va. -- Salisbury junior Jamie Farley and freshman Imani Hasell swept the CAC Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for Feb. 27, 2018.

Salisbury junior Jamie Farley was honored as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this season after earning two victories and breaking a school record at the George Mason Last Chance meet. Farley broke the school record in the 500-meter run while also taking first place with a time of 1:19.06. Her time broke the previous record set by Claire Lawrence of 1:21.39 back in 2013. Farley also earned a victory in the 200-meter dash, coming home in a time of 25.74 seconds. For the season, Farley has broken three-school records, including the 200 and 400-meter races.

Salisbury freshman Imani Hasell was tabbed as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after securing the top weight throw mark in the CAC this indoor season at the George Mason Last Chance meet. Hasell notched a personal-record throw of 49'-6.25" to earn second place in the event.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
Six CAC indoor track & field teams competed last week in hopes of pushing for final qualifying spots at the 2018 NCAA Indoor Championships ... The 2018 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships are set for March 9-10 in Birmingham, Ala. ... Christopher Newport senior Hannah Shoemaker set another school record in the weight throw on Sunday after firing a 14.79-meter toss during the JDL Last Chance Invitational. That topped the previous mark of 14.68, which was set by Sarah Johnson earlier this year. Along with her record-setting throw, she also finished fifth overall - and first among Division III competitors - in the shot put with a 12.74-meter effort ... Frostburg State junior Holly Van Wie took full advantage of the Mason Last Chance Meet, qualifying for the ECAC Championships with an 11.59 meter toss (38ft. 0.25in.) in the shot put. She finished fourth in the shot and added fifth in the weight throw (12.73 meters/41ft. 9.25in.).
