Christopher Newport junior Rachel Conway was selected as the CAC Volleyball Player of the Week for the second week in a row after dishing out 79 assists for an average of 11.29 per set in leading the Captains to a perfect 2-0 week. On Friday against Averett, she notched 44 assists, which marked the most by a Captain in a three-set match since 2010. Aided by Conway's efforts, CNU finished with a .307 hitting percentage during the week, which far out-distanced the opposition's .126 mark. Conway also added 11 digs and four blocks, including eight digs and three rejections against Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport cracked the top-10 of last week's AVCA Coaches' Poll, landing at the #9 spot ... CNU's Brooke Moore recorded her 1,000th career dig against Averett, becoming just the 11th player in program history to reach that plateau ... Marymount senior Cassidie Watson collected All-Tournament accolades at the Worthington Classic last weekend ... St. Mary's junior middle hitter Mandy Goodspeed earned All-Tournament Team honors after leading the Seahawks to their second consecutive Lycoming Warrior Tip-Off Classic title. Goodspeed added 38 kills and 13 total blocks in the team's 4-0 weekend ... Southern Virginia posted a 2-0 week, defeating Roanoke 3-1 and Lynchburg 3-2 ... York junior Charlotte Sabatano recorded double figures in kills in four of five matches last week, including a career-high 19 kills and a .515 attack percentage in a five-set win over Gettysburg.
