YORK, Pa. -- York sophomore Ali Posey and Salisbury sophomore Tressie Windsor were selected as the CAC Field Hockey Players of the Week for Sept. 8, 2015. 

Offensive Player of the Week

York sophomore Ali Posey was picked as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after tallying two hat tricks and seven goals in a 2-1 week for the Spartans. In a 5-4 season-opening loss at Gettysburg, Posey had her first collegiate hat trick to keep the Spartans in the game. She followed that up with another hat trick in the Spartans' 5-0 win over Eastern Mennonite, before notching the game-winning goal with 55 seconds left in regulation in a 1-0 win over Kenyon.

Salisbury sophomore Tressie Windsor was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording a 3-0 record in the cage with nine saves on the week. Windsor, who made her first three career starts to open the season, surrendered just two goals in nearly 200 minutes of work in victories over Stevenson, King's (Pa.) and Misericordia. In the season-opener against Stevenson, Windsor secured the solo shutout with five saves.

Salisbury is ranked No. 2 in the Penn Monto / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, with Mary Washington (No. 15) and Christopher Newport (No. 16) also in the top 20 ... Christopher Newport's Carol Thompson scored four goals against Ferrum on September 6, marking only the fourth four-goal effort in CNU history. Lauren Cheatham posted a hat trick and added an assist in a 6-1 victory at Bridgewater in her first game back after suffering a season-ending knee injury last year ... Allegra Massey-Elim started her Mary Washington career with three goals, including two game winners, as the No. 17 Eagles started the season 3-0. She scored the game-winning goal in overtime as UMW topped fellow 2012 Final Four team DePauw, 2-1, on Saturday, and added a pair of goals in the Eagles' 5-0 win over Centre on Sunday. Caroline Freeman started her collegiate career with three victories in goal, totaling five saves ... Nina Collins helped St. Mary's to a 2-1 start to the 2015 campaign with four points in three games. Collins assisted on the game-winning goal at Virginia Wesleyan before notching the game-winner vs. Centre. She finished out the week by assisting on one of the team's three goals in a 4-3 double OT loss to DePauw, who received votes in the NFHCA preseason poll ... Salisbury's Courtney Jantzen put home four goals in the first week of action, leading Salisbury to a three-win week ... Wesley's Summer Gannon was impressive in her first week as a Wolverine, scoring two goals and adding an assist ... York's Jennifer Morrissette totaled four defensive saves last week for the Spartans.
