Twelve from CAC Selected to NFHCA All-Region Squad

Twelve field hockey student-athletes from the CAC were named to the NFHCA All-South Region team, announced Monday. The list includes five first-teamers and seven second-team honorees.
CAC Champion Salisbury led the way with four all-region selections, two on the first team and two on the second team. Senior midfielder Hannah Miller, the CAC Player of the Year, earned all-region recognition for the second straight year as a first-team pick after securing second team honors last fall. Senior forward Becca Rinaca was also named to the first team for the Sea Gulls, while senior defender Annah Brittingham and junior goalkeeper Tressie Windsor collected second team accolades.
Christopher Newport and York each placed a trio of players on the all-region squad. York senior midfielder Sydney LaMarsh and and CNU senior goalkeeper Bailey Lien earned first team honors.
Landing on the second team were York sophomore forward Lindsay Nye and junior midfielder Ali Posey, along with CNU sophomore midfielder Rachael Allshouse and sophomore defender Brittan Muir. Posey collected her third-straight all-region nod for York, while Muir claimed second team recognition for the second straight year for the Captains.
Mary Washington had two players on the all-region team - senior forward Christine Loehr and freshman midfielder Lauren Hopkins. Loehr was a first team selection while Hopkins landed on the second team as the only freshman to receive all-region recognition.
