The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the third week of the 2024 field hockey season. Salisbury's Marli McDorman earned C2C Offensive Player of the Week honors, while the Sea Gulls Hannah Johnson claimed C2C Defensive Player of the Week distinction.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Marli McDorman, Salisbury

Salisbury sophomore Marli McDorman was the main catalyst for the Sea Gulls in the 2-0 home win over No. 2 Johns Hopkins. McDorman tallied an assist on the first goal of the game for Salisbury before slotting one in the back of the goal lifting her team to a 2-0 victory. She also assisted in the 6-0 win over No. 20 SUNY Geneseo.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Hannah Johnson, Salisbury

Salisbury senior Hannah Johnson helped the Sea Gulls once again rack up more ranked wins. The Sea Gulls went 2-0 on the week with a huge 2-0 victory over No. 2 Johns Hopkins at home which was the Blue Jays first loss, and first game held scoreless. Johnson also helped the defense shut out No. 20 SUNY Geneseo 6-0. The two teams only combined for 15 total shots together for both games.

OFFENSIVE: Delaney Norr, Christopher Newport

DEFENSIVE: Kendall Gibson, Christopher Newport

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Delaney Norr registered the game-winning tally during Christopher Newport's 2-1 triumph over Messiah on Saturday. The senior scored her first goal of the season in the 15th minute, which gave the Captains an early advantage and lifted the program to its first ever victory over the Falcons… Playing all 60 minutes for just the third time in her career, Kendall Gibson anchored the back line while leading Christopher Newport to a 2-1 victory over Messiah. Holding a 1-0 lead in the fourth quarter, she registered her first career defensive save after stoning a shot along the right post off a corner attempt in the 51st minute. Just six minutes later, following a second corner, she blocked another attempt on the interior to keep the Falcons off the board. Aided by Gibson's efforts, CNU limited Messiah to only four on-target shots while allowing a single goal off a penalty stroke in the 60th minute.
