Salisbury senior Hannah Johnson, a Lincoln University, Pa. native, helped the Salisbury defense shut out No. 8 York (Pa.) in the week's first game. Johnson then earned a key defensive save in the 3-2 win over Stevenson helping the Sea Gulls go a perfect 2-0 on the week.

HONORABLE MENTION

OFFENSIVE: Maddison Steele, Christopher Newport

DEFENSIVE: Morgan Shealer, Christopher Newport

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport's Maddison Steele registered a career-high five points during a 5-0 win over Centre on Saturday. Against the Colonels, she collected her fifth career multi-goal effort after striking twice in the first half. Giving the Captains an early lead, she scored late in the first quarter before adding another tally just before halftime. Capping off the action in the second half, she came back with an assist on the team's final strike to wrap up her outing. With her performance on Saturday, Steele moved into a tie for 12th on the program's all-time scoring list with her 67th career point… Starting her first collegiate game on the back line, Morgan Shealer anchored Christopher Newport on both ends of the field while leading Christopher Newport to a 5-0 victory over Centre on Saturday. On the back end, she led a defensive unit that did not surrender a single shot or penalty corner during the 60-minute shutout. That marked only the third time since 2019 that the Captains held an opponent without a shot or corner. Meanwhile, the Colonels had just six circle penetrations during Shealer's time on the field, and she helped eliminate half of those rallies. In the second quarter, she cut off a rush along the left baseline before making a tackle just inside the arc on a subsequent surge. Then, in the third quarter, she intercepted a crosser from the right corner. Just as impactful on the offensive end, she collected her first two collegiate goals after scoring on penalty corners in the 5th and 49th minutes. Eventually, Shealer saw a season-high 55 minutes of action before subbing out with a 5-0 lead in the fourth quarter.
