Salisbury's Nacrelli, Christopher Newport’s Billhimer Earn C2C Field Hockey Player of the Week Accolades

The Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) has announced its weekly awards following the 10th week of the 2024 field hockey season. Salisbury's Regan Nacrelli claimed C2C Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Christopher Newport's Brooke Billhimer was named C2C Defensive Player of the Week.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Regan Nacrelli, Salisbury

Salisbury sophomore Regan Nacrelli recorded a first-quarter goal which proved to be enough for second-ranked Salisbury, who blanked The College of New Jersey Lions, 1-0, in Saturday afternoon's regular season finale at the TCNJ Field Hockey Complex.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Brooke Billhimer, Christopher Newport

Christopher Newport senior Brooke Billhimer anchored the back line while leading the Captains to their fourth straight shutout during a 3-0 win over Mary Washington on Saturday. Serving as the center back, she played all 60 minutes while helping limit the Eagles to only four shots, which equaled their second-lowest total since 2022. On an individual level, she killed off two of UMW's circle penetrations after posting an interception on a penalty corner in the 24th minute before stealing a centering feed in the third quarter. Later, she also chipped in on the offensive end with her second career goal after scoring on a corner in the fourth frame. With her work on Saturday, she became just the fourth Captain in program history to play every second during an entire regular season slate. Dating back to last year, her run of 1,328 consecutive minutes of action is the fourth-longest "Iron Man" streak in program history.

HONORABLE MENTION

OFFENSIVE: Emily Evans, Christopher Newport

C2C HIGHLIGHTS

Christopher Newport's Emily Evans registered the first multi-assist game of her career after setting up a pair of tallies during the Captains 3-0 victory over Mary Washington on Saturday. In the 41st minute, she ran a successful give-and-go with Caroline Hughlett after splitting a pair of defenders with a pass that led to CNU's second goal of the contest. Then, in the 56th minute, she served as the inserter on a successful corner after connecting with Brooke Billhimer on the left wing for the final tally. With her two assists, the junior moved into the top-25 on the program's career points list after registering the 46th of her tenure.
