YORK, Pa. -- Salisbury senior Wyatt Smith was selected as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 5, 2016.

Salisbury senior Wyatt Smith was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 19.0 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in a 2-0 CAC week for the Sea Gulls. Smith opened the week with 22 points, six boards and two blocks in a 64-59 win over St. Mary's, before posting his third double-double of the year with 16 points and 11 rebounds in a 70-39 triumph at Penn State Harrisburg.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

In the D3hoops.com week 1 rankings, Christopher Newport is ranked No. 7 and Salisbury is No. 19 ... Salisbury is the lone remaining unbeaten in the CAC at 6-0 ... CNU, Salisbury, Marymount, and York are each 2-0 in CAC play ... CNU is now 31-3 in their last 34 home games dating back through the 2014-2015 season ... Frostburg State's Tyler Michael led the Bobcats in scoring in all three games last week, averaging 17.0 points per contest. He opened the week with 23 points in a home loss to Washington College ... Senior John Lutkenhaus averaged 17 points and 7.5 rebounds per contest in a 1-1 week for Mary Washington. He scored 24 points in a 75-55 win over Frostburg State and added 10 points in a loss at York. He made 7-of-16 three point attempts on the week ... Marymount's Michael Anderson led the Saints to an unblemished 2-0 week, winning their opening two league games over Wesley and St. Mary's. Anderson averaged 17.5 points for the week, posting a game-high 21 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the floor, including 3-for-4 from behind the arc against Wesley, before following it up with a team-high 14 points on Saturday in the win over the Seahawks ... St. Mary's Ochae Bynum averaged 17.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, and 3.5 assists last week while shooting 44.8% from the field and 85.7% from the free throw line. Bynum put up his third 20-point game of the season at Marymount while collecting season-highs of six rebounds, six steals, and four assists at No. 19 Salisbury ... Southern Virginia's Aarun Rumbaugh led the Knights in points per game last week, and for the season leads the team in assists per game and ranks second on the team in points per game and rebounds per game ... Wesley's JW Lawson willed the Wolverines to a comeback win against Southern Virginia on Saturday. He scored 26 points including 21 after halftime to help the Wolverines overcome a nine-point halftime deficit en route to a 70-66 victory, while also adding four boards and three steals ...  York's Blayde Reich led the 5-1 Spartans to a pair of CAC wins last week. In Wednesday's 86-73 win over Penn State Harrisburg, 15 points, five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocked shots in the victory. In Saturday's win over Mary Washington he tallied 14 points and eight rebounds. For the week, he averaged 14.5 points and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 55% from the floor and 75% from the line. For the season, Reich is averaging 10.8 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.
