Wesley Freshman Adrian Coverdale and York Junior Charlie Johnson Receive CAC Men's Soccer Weekly Awards

YORK, Pa. -- Wesley freshman Adrian Coverdale and York junior Charlie Johnson were honored as the CAC Men's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 19, 2015.

Wesley freshman Adrian Coverdale earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this season after scoring three goals in two CAC wins last week, helping the Wolverines take over sole possession of first place. Coverdale netted a pair of scores in a 4-2 win over Penn State Harrisburg, including the game-winner. Against Christopher Newport, Coverdale netted a crucial insurance goal in the second half to put two goals between the Wolverines and the Captains and ensure the victory. Coverdale has netted eight goals on the season, tied for third in the CAC.

York junior Charlie Johnson received CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after tallying five saves and surrendering just one goal in a pair of CAC victories for the Spartans last week. Johnson began the week with a clean sheet in a 1-0 home win against Frostburg State, registering two saves to earn his third shutout of the year. He then helped York to a 2-1 win at Marymount on Saturday, notching three saves in the win. Johnson posted a 0.5 goals against average and a .833 save percentage for the week.
