YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Steven Boslet was honored as the CAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week for April 7, 2015.

Christopher Newport sophomore Steven Boslet received CAC Men's Tennis Player of the Week accolades after posting a pair of wins over regionally-ranked opponents from nationally-ranked Johns Hopkins in the Captains only action last week. In a narrow 5-4 loss to 10th-ranked JHU, Boslet combined for two of CNU's four points. In singles, he convincingly took down the 14th-ranked singles player in the region, Ben Hwang,  6-2, 6-1. Earlier in the day, Boslet combined with Chiraag Shetty for a win over the 14th-ranked doubles tandem in the Atlantic South, Noah Joachim and Nicholas Garcia. The CNU pair won 9-7.

In the most recent ITA National Rankings (March 26), Mary Washington is ranked No. 19 and Christopher Newport is No. 39 ... In the ITA Atlantic South Regional Rankings, Mary Washington is No. 4, Salisbury is No. 9 and Christopher Newport is No. 10 ... Four CAC players are ranked in Atlantic South Singles top-25 - Mary Washington's Tyler Carey (No. 5) and Stratton Gilmore (No. 12), CNU's David Reed (No. 13) and Salisbury's Daniel Albers (No. 23) ... Four doubles tandems are also regionally ranked - UMW's Carey & Evan Charles (No. 2), Salisbury's Albers & Eric Spangler (No. 5), UMW's Gilmore & Brandon Griffin (No. 10), and CNU's Reed & Justin Cerny (No. 12) ... Sophomore Andrew Curtis went undefeated in singles and doubles play as No. 19 Mary Washington defeated Salisbury and St. Mary's on Wednesday. Against Salisbury, he won at six singles, 6-2, 6-2, and teamed with Eric Hurwitz at two doubles to win, 8-2. Later that evening, he won at three singles over St. Mary's, 6-0, 6-0, and won at two doubles with Hurwitz, 8-0. He has won eight straight singles matches and eight of nine doubles matches ... Salisbury's Eric Spangler won three of his four matches last week, with a pair of wins at No. 2 singles and splitting two No. 1 doubles matches, including a 6-4, 6-1 win against Mary Washington's Stratton Glimore, who is ranked No. 12 in the Atlantic South Region ... Southern Virginia's Dallin Evans won singles matches against York (Pa.) and Hood College by 6-1, 6-2 and 6-3, 7-5 counts to lead the Knights last week ... Zach Hanson led the York to a pair of wins over Gettysburg 5-4 and Southern Virginia 8-1, posting a 4-0 mark in the victories.
