Christopher Newport Sophomore Zachary Campbell and Salisbury Senior Dylan Burkett Receive CAC Men's Track & Field Athlete of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophmore Zachary Campbell and Salisbury senior Dylan Burkett were awarded the CAC Men's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for Feb. 3, 2015.

Christopher Newport sophomore Zachary Campbell was named the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after running the anchor leg of the record-breaking distance medley relay team at the Captains Invitational. Campbell completed the final 1600 meters of the event in 4:21.7, helping his DMR teammates establish new school and conference records with a time of 10:21.38, which ranks third in the country. The time topped the previous CNU mark by three seconds, which was established in 2009, and also cut eight seconds off the old CAC mark, which was set last season. The next day, Campbell returned to the track and beat a field of 34 competitors to notch a victory in the 800 with a time of 1:59.26

Salisbury senior Dylan Burkett was awarded the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after scoring two top-five finishes at the George Mason Patriot Games. Burkett set a personal record of 52'-10" in the weight throw, placing him first in the event and giving him the top mark in the conference. His performance also placed him 45th in the NCAA. The senior finished third in the shot put with a 50'-4'' throw, which ranks third in the conference.
