YORK, Pa. -- York sophomore Grant Dell received CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honors for Sept. 29, 2015.

York sophomore Grant Dell received the CAC Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week after placing 16th in a field of 257 runners at the Lock Haven Invitational on Saturday, helping the Spartans to a fourth-place team finish. Dell completed the 8k course in a personal-best time of 26:05.53, finishing 10th among the field of NCAA competitors and fourth among Division III runners. The Spartans were the top Division III team in the 16-team field.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Six CAC teams were in action last week ... Christopher Newport (4th) and Mary Washington (8th) are ranked in the South/Southeast Regional rankings ... Christopher Newport junior Andrew Benfer led the Captains and placed 12th overall during the UVA/Panorama Farms Invitational on Saturday. In the 8k, he posted a time of 26:53.4, which also marked the finest performance by a Division III competitor at the meet. His performance helped lead CNU to a second-place team finish ... Frostburg State freshman Robert Romano was the Bobcats' top finisher at the Dickinson Long-Short Invitational, taking 44th place in 28:10.25 at the 8K course ... Marymount junior Collin Chartier led the Saints to their best team finish of the season on Saturday at the Hornet Harrier hosted by Shenandoah. Chartier crossed in fifth place with a time of 20:08.5, helping the Saints to fourth in the team standings ... Aidan Hennessey finished 23rd out of 145 runners, helping St. Mary's finish fifth at the Osprey Open. The 15-team field featured a mix of Division II, Division III, and JUCO schools. Hennessey was the 11th Division III runner to cross the finish line in 28:16.46.
