YORK, Pa. -- Southern Virginia senior Kevin Walker was selected as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 25, 2016.

Southern Virginia senior Kevin Walker earned CAC Player of the Week accolades for the second time this year after hitting the game-winning three-pointer with 13 seconds left to lift the Knights past Mary Washington, 78-76, last Wednesday. Walker posted a well-rounded stat line with 20 points, five rebounds, four assists, four steals and four triples while shooting 54.5% (6-of-11) from the field and 57.1% (4-of-7) from long range.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Winter Storm Jonas forced the postponement of Saturday's games to Monday, Feb. 1, resulting in all 10 CAC teams playing just once last week ... In the D3hoops.com Week 6 National Rankings, Christopher Newport jumped three spots to No. 10 is ranked 13th while Salisbury received 19 votes ... CNU is the lone unbeaten team in conference play at 9-0 in the CAC and holds a three-game lead at the top of the standings. Kevin Regimbal paced the Captains in a road victory at St. Mary's, leading the squad to its 15th win in 16 games this season. CNU is now 7-0 on the road this season. ... Just two games separate third place from 10th place in the conference standings ...  Frostburg State topped York 59-53, led by 17 points from Tyler Michael ... Delaszo Smith led St. Mary's against CNU with a career-high 27 points, surpassing his old mark of 23 set 18 days ago at Salisbury (Jan. 2). This was Smith's fifth 20-point game of the season ... Gordon Jeter led Salisbury to its fifth-straight CAC win on Wednesday against Marymount. Jeter recorded a season-high-tying 21 points in the game, including a layup with just over five minutes to play in the game, which was the final lead change and gave the Gulls the lead for good. He also grabbed seven rebounds and dished out four assists, matching a career high ... Southern Virginia's Kevin Walker leads the CAC in steals with 2.5 per game and ranks second in assists with 4.1 per game ... Wesley's Evan Anderson scored a career-high 21 points in a victory over Penn State Harrisburg.
