FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Wesley sophomore Brian Cameron was selected as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 18, 2017.

Wesley sophomore Brian Cameron was selected as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 19.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 4.3 three-pointers per contest while shooting 65% (13-for-20) from beyond the arc in a 2-1 week for the Wolverines. Cameron's top performance came in a 105-94 win over Hood in the opening game of the Cregger Invitational, scoring 28 points on 10-of-12 shooting from the floor and 8-of-9 from three-point range while also adding six rebounds and two steals. He was named to the Cregger Invitational All-Tournament team for his efforts. Cameron has scored in double figures in eight of Wesley's nine games this season, and currently leads the CAC in scoring with 20.8 points per game.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport and York are receiving votes in the D3hoops.com week 3 poll ... York is the lone remaining unbeaten in the CAC at 8-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play ... Mary Washington freshman Drew Johnson tied for team-high honors with 13 points, including the game-winning three pointer at the buzzer, as Mary Washington knocked off Randolph-Macon, 68-65, on Sunday. Johnson made 5-of-10 shots, including 3-of-7 three pointers, as he scored all 13 of his points in the second half. He also grabbed eight rebounds, which tied for most on the team ... Penn State Harrisburg freshman Anthony Bennett Jr. scored a career high 21 points against Elizabethtown on Sunday in his first career start. Bennett knocked down three three-pointers and was 7-for-14 from the field ... Matt Ayoub paced St. Mary's in scoring, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage during the Seahawks' two games this past week. Ayoub put in a career-best 21 points on 6-of-10 shooting and a career-high six free throws made in a triple OT loss to Olivet. For the week, he averaged 16.5 points as Ayoub went 10-of-11 at the line while shooting 56.3-percent from the field ... In a tough loss at Arcadia on Saturday, Salisbury senior Chad Barcikowski led the Sea Gulls in scoring (13 points) and rebounding (six rebounds). Barcikowski has reached double-figure scoring in all eight games so far this season ... Southern Virginia sophomore Justin Prisbey led the Knights with 14 points and nine rebounds in a one-point loss against Randolph. He is second on the team with 11.3 ppg and third with 6.2 rpg ... York senior Dalton Myers led the unbeaten Spartans to an 83-79 win over No. 12 Swarthmore on Wednesday in York's lone game for the week. Myers notched 22 points, four rebounds, one assist and one block in the second win over a ranked team this year. Myers moved into a time for16th place on the Spartans' all-time scoring list as he now has 1,149 points. The 22-point game markec the 16th time in his career that he has gone over 20 points in a game in his career. For the season, Myers is averaging 18.1 points and 6.5 rebounds per game. He is shooting 57% from the floor, 45.2% from three and 75.8% from the free throw line. He is currently ranked fifth in the CAC in scoring, fourth in field goal percentage, fifth in three point field goal percentage, seventh in free throw percentage, and eight in free throws made per game.
