FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- York seniors Dillon Hannah and Landry Marshall swept the CAC Men's Lacrosse Player of the Week awards for April 9, 2018.  

Offensive Player of the Week

York senior Dillon Hannah was tabbed as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after six goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Spartans. In a 24-3 win over Wesley, Hannah notched a goal and two ground balls in limited playing time. He closed out the week with seven points on a career-high five goals and two assists in a 16-4 victory over Mary Washington. He scored his six goals for the week on just eight shots for a shooting percentage of 75%. He also compiled three ground balls and one caused turnover for the week. For the season, Hannah has 21 points on 16 goals and five assists in his 12 games. 

Defensive Player of the Week

York senior Landry Marshall earned CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after posting a goals against average of 2.67 and a save percentage of 76.5% in a 2-0 week. Marshall began the week with three saves in 30 minutes of shutout goalkeeping in a victory over Wesley. He capped his week with a win against Mary Washington, registering 10 saves and allowing just four goals. For the year, Marshall has a 5.24 goals against average and a 55.7% save percentage. Marshall is 11-1 as he has started all 12 games for the Spartans and registered 664:39 in net this year.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

York is ranked No. 2, Salisbury is ranked No. 11, and Christopher Newport is ranked No. 17 in the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) rankings ... CNU sophomore goalkeeper Scott McAneney anchored the Captains during a pair of CAC bouts last week. Against No. 11 Salisbury on Wednesday, he posted seven saves and plucked a pair of ground balls. He helped limit the Sea Gulls to just six goals, which equaled the lowest single-game total by SU since 2002. On Saturday, he came back with six saves and three more ground balls in a 14-6 victory over Marymount. With those performances, he became the first CNU goalkeeper to limit back-to-back opponents to six goals or less in a pair of complete game efforts since Andy McGregor accomplished the feat against Mary Washington and St. Vincent in 2012 ... Senior Adam Gross led Frostburg State with four goals and two assists last week ... Mary Washington junior Shane McKenzie scored his 100th career point as part of a two assist performance at York ... Marshall Rhodes helped St. Mary's to a 1-1 week with five goals and six points. Rhodes opened up the week with his first career hat trick as he tallied career-bests of three goals and four points in the win over Marymount before adding two goals at Southern Virginia. Conner Campbell played a key role St. Mary's first CAC win of the season vs. Marymount as Campbell scooped up a season-best seven ground balls and caused a game-best five turnovers while adding a career-high two points on a goal and an assist ... Salisbury sophomore goalkeeper Brandon Warren helped the Sea Gulls to a 2-0 week with victories over No. 17 CNU and No. 5 Cabrini. Warren recorded 10 saves against CNU, his second highest total of the season, while posting a save percentage of 66.7. Against the Cavaliers, Warren recorded nine saves in a 9-8 win for Salisbury. For the week Warren recorded 19 saves, his highest total for a single week, while also recording a save percentage of 59.4. Sophomore Emory Wongus led ther SU attack with three goals and two assists, including his third hat trick of the season and the game-winner vs. Cabrini ... Southern Virginia freshman Tennison Schmidt racked up four goals and dished three assists in a CAC win over St. Mary's ... Wesley sophomore goalkeeper James Cella stopped 20 shots in net for Wesley last week. Cella is tied for third in save percentage in the CAC (52.9%).
