Christopher Newport Senior Ryan Scott and Mary Washington Senior Daniel Forjan Nab CAC Men's Track & Field Weekly Honors

FREDERICKBURG, Va. -- Christopher Newport senior Ryan Scott and Mary Washington senior Daniel Forjan nabbed CAC Men's Track & Field weekly awards for March 27, 2018.  


Track Athlete of the Week

Christopher Newport senior Ryan Scott earned CAC Track Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year after posting victories in the 110-hurdles and the 4x100 relay at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational on Friday at Lynchburg. On an individual level, he won the 110-hurdles in 14.87. That clocking ranks seventh in the NCAA this year. The senior also ran the second leg on CNU's 4x100-relay, which finished first in 42.23. That mark currently stands as the fastest in the CAC and the ninth-best clocking in the country this season.

Mary Washington senior Daniel Forjan collected CAC Field Athlete of the Week honors after recording the sixth-best mark in Division III in the shot put at the Mount Olive Trojan Invitational on Saturday. Forjan posted a mark of 15.75 meters in the shot put, the top mark in the CAC this year. He also finished second in the discus at 43.57 meters.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport's Brendon Burrows won the discus during the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational on Friday with a 46.94-meter toss. That currently ranks eighth in the nation. He also placed second in the shot put with a 14.12-meter distance, which places him sixth on Christopher Newport's all-time performance list ... Frostburg State sophomore John Kerns won the hammer throw with a distance of 48.60 meters (159ft. 5in.) and added fifth in the discus (38.85 meters/127ft. 5in.) and ninth in the shot put (11.33 meters (37ft. 2.25in.) as Frostburg opened the outdoor season at the Bobcat Invitational at West Virginia Wesleyan ... Southern Virginia competed at the Dr. Jack Toms Invitational at Lynchburg. Freshman Spencer Brown won the high jump with a height of 1.83 meters in just his second collegiate meet, while Colter May placed third in the 10,000 meters at 32:54.53. May's time ranks third in the CAC this spring.
