FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Frostburg State sophomore Brooke Shehade, Salisbury senior Hope Knussman, and Christopher Newport senior Carly Maglio were tabbed as the CAC Women's Soccer Players of the Week for Oct. 16, 2017.

Frostburg State sophomore Brooke Shehade earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week accolades after scoring three goals last week as the Bobcats collected CAC wins over York and Marymount. Shehade scored twice in a 4-1 win over York and added one goal in a 3-0 triumph against Marymount.

Christopher Newport senior Carly Maglio was selected as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week for the third time this year after totaling four saves and picking up two shutouts in conference play over St. Mary's and Penn State Harrisburg. Maglio lowered her season goals against average to 0.57 with the two clean slates and now has five solo shutouts on the year.

Salisbury senior Hope Knussman collected CAC Defensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this year after tallying four saves and earning a pair of shutout victories last week. Knussman notched one save in a 5-0 win over Marymount and provided three timely saves in a 1-0 win over York. Knussman has not given up a goal since Sept. 24, marking 405 consecutive shutout minutes.

Christopher Newport is ranked in both national polls. The Captains are No. 6 in the D3soccer.com rankings and No. 9 in the United Soccer Coaches poll ... CNU and Salisbury remain unbeaten in conference play at 6-0 ... Freshman Anna Longacher scored the eventual game winning goal as Mary Washington topped Wesley, 3-2, on Saturday night ... Salisbury's Ruthie Lucas scored a goal and provided two assists in two games against conference opponents Marymount and York over the past week to help Salisbury move to 6-0 in the CAC ... Southern Virginia freshman Alli Rigby scored the Knights' first goal against UMW and assisted the game-winner. Rigby eads team with seven goals this season ... Janiah Moore tallied two goals and an assist in Wesley's two CAC games last week. She scored both of her goals in Wesley's comeback attempt against Mary Washington. Moore ranks fifth in the CAC in points (19) and is tied for fifth in goals (8).
