Wesley Student-Athlete Advisory Committee Hosts Movie Night At the Dover Interfaith Mission For Housing

The Wesley College Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) hosted a movie night at the Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing on February 10.  SAAC showed the men at DIMH, The Human Experience, which tells the story of a man searching for answers about what it means to be human.

“The beauty of the trip was simply having the experience to inspire, and be inspired by the men at DIMH,” said SAAC President Jeramie Powell.  “The men seemed to really light up when they got to see and interact with athletes on a personal level.”

SAAC would also like to thank ARAMARK for providing popcorn for the event.

Wesley’s SAAC is continuing its relationship with DIMH and has invited them to attend several sporting events in the spring.  Additionally, DIMH has been invited participate in a political science forum on campus.

The Dover Interfaith Mission for Housing (DIMH) is a nonprofit organization of local faith communities concerned with the needs of homeless men in the Greater Dover area.  It was formed by a group of faith community representatives who sought to provide cold-weather shelter in early 2008 following the inability of past shelters to meet the needs of men.
