Capital Athletic Conference Unveils New Logo And Website

Capital Athletic Conference Unveils New Logo And Website

Two days after the Capital Athletic Conference officially welcomed three new members - Christopher Newport University, Penn State Harrisburg and Southern Virginia University - the conference unveiled a new conference logo and website today in preparation for the CAC’s 24th year of competition.

The addition of Christopher Newport (Newport News, Va.), Penn State Harrisburg (Middletown, Pa.) and Southern Virginia (Buena Vista, Va.) increases the conference’s membership to an all-time high of 10 colleges and universities.

In addition to the historic growth, the CAC Presidents Council proudly unveiled a new logo and website to promote the brand of the conference and its member institutions.

Featured in the new logo, which can be used in a rectangular (primary) or circular (secondary) format, is the U.S. Capitol Building, which was the symbolic mark in the CAC’s original logo developed at the conference’s inception.  The secondary logo will be used in specialized (limited) situations approved by the conference office.

While CAC membership and its geographic footprint has grown, the U.S. Capitol Building remains concentric in the conference and is within a three-hour drive of all 10 member institutions located in four states.

Additionally, the Presidents Council chose to feature the red, white and blue color scheme of the United States and include 10 stars in the logo, not as a representation of membership, but as a sign of strength and stability.

The logo was designed by York College of Pa. Assistant Dean for Athletics and Recreation Paul Saikia.

The new website, developed in conjunction with the CAC’s provider PrestoSports, features a bright, clean face highlighting the membership across the top. The website access remains www.cacsports.com.

In addition to the standard options (sports pages, schedules, results, standings, photos, etc.), the new website provides more options for video content, messages and promotional activity.
