YORK, Pa. -- York sophomore Lindsay Nye and Salisbury junior Tressie Windsor claimed CAC Field Hockey Player of the Week honors for Oct. 3, 2016. 

Offensive Player of the Week

York sophomore Lindsay Nye earned CAC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time this year after totaling three goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Spartans. Nye opened the week with a goal and an assist in a 7-4 non-conference win over Johns Hopkins. She followed that with two goals and an assist in a 5-0 CAC win over Wesley. Nye leads the conference in goals (13) and points (30), and has scored at least one goal in eight straight games and recorded at least one point in all 10 contests this season.

Salisbury junior Tressie Windsor claimed CAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades after notching four saves in a 6-1 win against 17th-ranked Mary Washington Saturday. UMW entered the matchup as the No. 1 scoring team in the nation at 5.13 goals per game, and the Sea Gull defense allowed just nine total shots and one goal in the contest.

Salisbury is ranked No. 4 in the Penn Monto / National Field Hockey Coaches Association Poll, with Mary Washington ranked No. 17 ... Christopher Newport and York are two of five teams receiving votes ... CNU defeated Virginia Wesleyan and Washington & Lee in non-conference action last week. Rachael Allshouse led the Captains with three of the team's six goals. Bailey Lien allowed just one goal in 132 minutes in the cage ... Mary Washington dropped its only decision of the week at Salisbury after having its Wednesday game at Catholic postponed ... Carly Todd helped St. Mary's to a 1-0 start in conference play as Todd scored the game-winning goal against Frostburg State. She leads the Seahawks in scoring with 14 points (6g, 2a). Goalkeeper Alyssa Thompson recorded her first shutout of the season, need just two saves in the win ... Abbey Shobe notched a pair of goals in Salisbury's only game of the week, a 6-1 win against No. 17 Mary Washington. Shobe tallied the first two goals of the game, including her team-leading third game-winning goal of the year ... Wesley's Morgan Seymour added to her Division III-leading defensive saves total with three defensive saves on the road against Rowan on Wednesday, bringing her season total to 11. She has recorded three defensive saves in a game twice this year.
