FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Wesley senior Paul Clemons was named the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Dec. 26, 2017.

Wesley senior Paul Clemons was named the CAC Player of the Week after posting a 28-point, 13-rebound effort in the Wolverines' 82-75 victory over Immaculata. Clemons shot 9-of-11 (81.8%) from the field and 10-of-11 (90.9%) from the free throw line in the victory while also adding four assists and a steal. He scored 17 of his points in the second half, including eight points in the final six minutes to help Wesley pull away down the stretch.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Six CAC teams competed last week ... York entered the D3hoops.com national rankings at No. 25 last week, giving the Spartans their first top-25 ranking since 2006 ... Christopher Newport is one of 19 teams receiving votes in the D3hoops.com week 4 poll ... York is the lone remaining unbeaten in the CAC at 9-0 overall and 4-0 in conference play ... Christopher Newport senior Marcus Carter led the 7-2 Captains to a road win at local rival Virginia Wesleyan by pouring in 19 points and pulling down nine rebounds ... Salisbury senior Chad Barcikowski netted 14 points with five steals and three rebounds in a loss to Rowan on Wednesday. Barcikowski's 15.9 points per game ranks sixth in the CAC this season ... York remained unbeaten with a comeback 66-63 win road win at Dickinson last Tuesday. Jared Wagner tallied 18 ponts, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocked shots and a steal, while Blayde Riech recorded his first double-double of the year with 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds. For the season, Wagner is averaging 11.1 points, 4.7 rebounds, 4.1 assists and 2.4 steals per game, while Reich is averaging 18.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.0 steals per game.
