FREDERICKBURG, Va. -- York freshman Keven Stahl earned his second straight and sixth overall CAC Men's Swimming Athlete of the Week award on Feb. 6, 2018.

York freshman Keven Stahl earned CAC Athlete of the Week for the second straight week and sixth time this season after registering the eighth-fastest 1,000 freestyle time in the nation and helping the Spartans hand Mary Washington its first CAC loss 2012. Stahl won three individual events and was a part of one winning relay in York's 139-123 victory over the Eagles. In the battle of conference unbeatens, Stahl won the 1,000 freestyle in a time of 9:33.44, which ranks eighth in Division III. He was also victorious in the 200 butterfly at 1:54.97 and the 500 freestyle at 4:42.22, and saw the leadoff leg on the winning 400 freestyle relay that clinched the win for the Spartans in 3:12.88 - the top time in the CAC this year.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All six CAC swimming teams competed last week, wrapping up the regular season prior to the CAC Swimming Championships on Feb. 22-25 ... Frostburg State senior Christian March won all five of his individual events in the final two meets of the regular season. March won the 50 free, 100 breaststroke and 200 breaststroke against Elizabethtown and the 50 free and 100 breaststroke in a win over Marymount. The Bobcat men earned their first CAC win since joining the league with the win over the Saints ... Senior Kenyon Huber-Wilker led Mary Washington with a first and second place finish at York. He won the 200 breaststroke at 2:12.94, and took second in the 100 breaststroke at 1:00.29 ... Marymount junior Isaiah Jones collected a first-place finish in the 100-meter free (54.52) and second in the 50-meter free (24.49) this past weekend at Frostburg to conclude the regular season. Jones currently ranks fifth in the CAC in both the 50-yard and 100-yard free ... St. Mary's freshman Andrew Scott broke his third school record of the season in the 1,000 yard freestyle with a time of 9:45.24, earning him first place against Salisbury. He also earned first place in the 500 yard freestyle with a time of 4:56.00 ... Salisbury junior Andrew Ward earned both an individual first- and second-place finish on Saturday at St. Mary's. He won the 50-yard freestyle, earning a time of 22.90 seconds, then added to his day by finishing second in the 100-yard backstroke, with a time of 59.27 seconds ... York's win over Mary Washington marked the first time since Nov. 4, 2011 that the Eagles lost a CAC dual meet, when York recorded a 67-55 win over the Eagles. York is the only CAC school to beat the Eagles twice in a regular season dual meet.
