Wesley College's Matt Bundy ran a school-record 14.32 in the preliminaries of the 110m hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Saturday afternoon at Burns Stadium to advance to the Finals on Saturday, May 26 at 6:25 pm Eastern. His record-breaking performance was second in his heat by just one-hundredth of a second and sixth overall in the three preliminary sections.

Sprinter Matt Bundy finished fourth in the 110m hurdles at the 2012 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field National Championships at Burns Stadium on Saturday afternoon. Bundy's time of 14.49 earned him All-America honors and he is the first runner in Wesley College history to earn that distinction. Chris Donisi had earned All-America recognition after placing eighth in the long jump in 2009.

Sprinter Matt Bundy won the 110m hurdles at the 2012 ECAC Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Rensselaer Polytechnic institute on Friday afternoon. His time of 14.52 shattered his own school-record of 14.80 by 28 hundredths of a second and should advance him to the NCAA Division III Championships on May 24-26 at Burns Stadium in Claremont, CA.

In 2010, the Salisbury women’s track & field snapped Mary Washington’s 16-year dominance of the CAC Championship by winning its first team title. In 2011, York did the same to Salisbury on the men’s side, ending the Sea Gulls’ seven-year run of championships. So what could happen in 2012 when the seven CAC track & field programs will travel to Frostburg State’s Bobcat Stadium to vie for individual and team awards.

Matt Bechtel is a senior track and field athlete at the University of Mary Washington. After transferring to UMW from UNC Wilmington, Bechtel was a member of the 2010 UMW baseball team that captured the CAC Championship and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. After missing the 2011 season with an injury, Bechtel joined the track and field team this winter, and will look to help the Eagles to a conference title this spring. INTRODUCING … Matt Bechtel.
