YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington sophomore Brianne Comden was named the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 23, 2014.

Mary Washington sophomore center Brianne Comden was honored as the CAC Player of the Week for the second time this year after averaging 22.5 points per game, including a career-high 29 on Saturday at Wesley, as Mary Washington finished the regular season with a pair of wins. Comden shot 6-of-14 from the field en route to 16 points as the Eagles downed Southern Virginia, adding six rebounds. She then went 14-of-19 from the field for 29 points and added 10 rebounds for the double-double at Wesley. She averaged 8.0 rebounds and 1.5 blocks and shot 60.6% from the field for the week.

The CAC playoffs begin with the first round on Tuesday, with No. 6 St. Mary's at No. 3 Marymount at 6 p.m. and No. 5 York at No. 4 Christopher Newport at 5:30 p.m. ... No. 1 Salisbury and No. 2 Mary Washington received first-round byes and will host Thursday's semifinals ...
