FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Marymount sophomore Regan Lohr and York senior Katie Wagner were honored as the the CAC Women's Basketball Co-Players of the Week for Jan. 8, 2017.

Marymount sophomore Regan Lohr was honored as the CAC Co-Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, 2.0 assists and 3.0 three-pointers per contest in a 2-0 week for the Saints that included a win over sixth-ranked Christopher Newport. Lohr opened the week with a game-high 23 points on 60% (9-for-15) shooting in a 62-32 road win at Frostburg State. She excelled early on, hitting five three-pointers in the opening 12 minutes to help the Saints jump out to a 19-4 lead. She finished 5-for-8 from beyond the arc, setting a new career-high for three-pointers made. Lohr also swiped a career-high five steals in the contest. Against CNU, Lohr tallied 16 of her 18 points in the second half, including a 13-for-14 clip from the free throw line.

York senior Katie Wagner was named the CAC Co-Player of the Week after averaging 20.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.5 steals per game while shooting 66.7% (16-for-24) from the field and 81.8% (9-for-11) from the free throw line in a pair of CAC road wins for the Spartans. Wagner opened the week with a career-high 22 points, five rebounds, three assists and three steals in a come-from-behind win at Salisbury. She scored 10 of her 22 points in the decisive third quarter in which the Spartans overcame four-point halftime deficit. She followed that with 19 points, six rebounds, seven assists and two steals in the Saturday afternoon win at Southern Virginia. Wagner was 7-for-10 from the floor and 5-for-7 from the free throw line in the victory over the Knights.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Now a third of the way through the conference season, Marymount (6-0 CAC) is the lone unbeaten in conference play, while Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, and York are all one game back at 5-1 ... Christopher Newport is ranked No. 6 in the D3hoops.com and No. 3 in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) rankings, while Marymount is receiving votes in both polls ... Frostburg State sophomore Amanda Emory totaled 21 points and 19 rebounds in two games last week ... Freshman Madison Shifflett led Mary Washington to a pair of CAC wins this week to lift the Eagles to 5-1 in CAC play. She scored 17 points in a 74-35 win over Wesley on Wednesday on 5-of-8 shooting, and scored 11 in a 67-54 win at Penn State Harrisburg on 4-of-7 shooting. She made three three pointers in each contest. For the week, she shot 60% from the field, both from two- and three-point range, and grabbed four rebounds in each contest ... Kobe Chaney collected her fourth double-double of the season while shooting 57.1% from the field to lead St. Mary's to its first 2-0 week of the year. Chaney notched 11 rebounds and 10 points plus two assists and two blocks as the Seahawks picked up their first CAC win of the season. She then tallied 13 boards, six points, and a career-best five blocks against Wesley for St. Mary's fourth win in a row. For the first time since the 2012-13 campaign, St. Mary's has now won four straight ... Salisbury's Kaylyn French recorded two double-doubles in Salisbury's two games, averaging 16.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game. The junior also added 2.5 assists, 2.5 blocks, and 2.0 steals per game. French put up a season-high 20 points and 10 rebounds on 50 percent shooting against York while blocking five shots. With 12 points and 12 rebounds against Frostburg State, French recorded her third straight double-double ... Southern Virginia senior Shelby Butler averaged 24.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per game last week, and leads the CAC with 18.0 ppg. Butler recorded a double-double against St. Mary's and a career-high 32 points against York ... Wesley freshman Shelby Johnson tallied her second career double-double against St. Mary's, picking up 18 points and 12 rebounds against the Seahawks.
