York sophomore Justine Wantz received CAC Athlete of the Week accolades for the second time this season after leading the Spartans to a 148-106 victory over Randolph-Macon with a trio of wins. Wantz won the 100 and 200 backstrokes and also swam the leadoff leg on the winning 200 medley relay team. She won the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:01.41 and the 200 at 2:11.68. Wantz leads the Spartan squad with nine individual wins. She owns the top times in the CAC in both events.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Mary Washington, Salisbury and York opened the 2018 portion of their schedules last week ... Frostburg State will return to the pool this Saturday at York (Pa.) at 1:00 p.m. ... Mary Washington defeated Salisbury 158-47 on Saturday, improving the Eagles to 2-0 in CAC dual meets and 5-0 overall ... Salisbury sophomore Angela Barzanti collected a pair of individual second-place finishes to start 2018, taking second in the 800 freestyle (10:53.08) vs. McDaniel and second in the 400 freestyle (5:08.18) against UMW. Barzanti was also the anchor for a 400-meter freestyle relay team that finided first against McDaniel, with a time of 4:43.41.
