YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport sophomore Logan Harrington and Salisbury sophomore Meghan McGowan received CAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for April 7, 2015.

Christopher Newport sophomore Logan Harrington was awarded the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after another record-breaking performance during the Colonial Relays. Harrington set a new CAC record in the 800 meters with a time of 2:12.73, which also stands fourth in the nation this year. She placed seventh overall but first among Division III competitors.  She also went on to set a new CNU record in the 4x800 relay. She helped lead the Captains to a time of 9:46.72, which took 10 seconds off the previous mark set in 2010.

Meghan McGowan | Salisbury | So.

Salisbury sophomore Meghan McGowan was honored as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after grabbing one of Salisbury's top finishes in the Colonial Relays on Saturday. McGowan tied for sixth in the high jump (5'-5") but finished tops among Division III competitors. Her mark ranks first in the conference and sixth in the nation.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All seven CAC women's track & field teams were in action this past week … Christopher Newport, Salisbury and Wesley traveled to the Colonial Relays at William & Mary. Out of the 49 competing teams, Salisbury placed 36th, CNU 37th and Wesley 44th … York and Mary Washington competed at the York Twilight Invitational, with UMW claiming third place out of the 10 teams and the host Spartans placing sixth … Frostburg State hosted the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday, a non-team scoring event. Freshman Kayla Truesdel had the best individual performance of the day for the Bobcats as she won the 200-meter dash (26.03), the 400-meter dash (60.22) and was the fourth leg of the 4x400-meter relay team that posted a victory in 4:18.86 … Taylor Cockerille took a first and second place finish for Mary Washington at the York Twilight Invitational on Wednesday. Cockerille won the discus at 38.82 meters, and finished second in the shot put at 12.42 meters … Salisbury set one school record and had numerous finishes as the top Division III representative in events at the Colonial Relays. The SU school record fell in the 4x100-meter relay, as freshmen Chanel Beaudoin and Christine Randall, sophomore Kelsey Larger, and junior Lauren Snyder teamed up for a 48.92-second time … York freshman Ericka Quenzer secured the lone fist place finish for the Spartans as she won the 100m hurdles with a time of 16.03. That mark by Quenzer broke her previous school record time of 16.28, which she originally set on March 21 at the Elizabethtown Early Bird Opener.
