YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport senior Logan Harrington and junior Hannah Shoemaker swept the CAC Women's Track & Field weekly awards for March 7, 2017.

Christopher Newprot senior Logan Harrington was named the CAC Track Athlete of the Week for the second time this year after breaking her own CAC indoor record in the mile and posting a victory and the sixth-fastest time nationally in the 800 meters in back-to-back weeks. At the George Mason Last Chance Meet, Harrington won the 800 at 2:13.23, topping a field that included five Division I competitors with her top clocking of the year. One week later, she established a new CAC record in the mile at the Tufts Final Qualifier. She posted a time of 5:01.24, which broke her own CAC record of 5:05.67. It also ranks as the second-fastest clocking in CNU history and the 26th-best mark in the NCAA this year.

Christopher Newport junior Hannah Shoemaker earned CAC Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this season after posting the top shot put mark in the CAC and 20th in the nation at the Roanoke Final Qualifier. Shoemaker posted a 13.57-meter effort at Roanoke, marking the longest throw in the CAC by over a foot and 20th nationally. Additionally, it also stands as the third-longest heave in CNU history and the top mark in the South / Southeast Region this year.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Six individuals and one relay will represent the CAC at the 2017 NCAA Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships ... The NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be held March 10-11 at the Res Rec Center in Naperville, Illinois, with North Central College serving as the official host ... Competing at the NCAA Championships will be Christopher Newport's Logan Harrington (800) and Briana Sutton (Pentathlon), Frostburg State's Kayla Truesdel (60) Penn State Harrisburg's Ashley Williams (60 hurdles), Salisbury's Meghan McGowan (High Jump), and Wesley's Jasmine Brown (High Jump) and 4x400 relay of Elizsha Streeter, Angel Hall, Quadira Minus, and Brianna Artis ... Frostburg State junior Kayla Truesdel had an impressive weekend at the 2017 ECAC Indoor Championships, taking home the ECAC Title and tying her personal-best time in the 60-meter dash at 7.74 meters. She also set the school record in the 200-meter dash by taking third in 25.59 ... Salisbury freshman Emily Wahlgren captured first-place finishes in the 100 and 400-meter hurdles and the long jump at the Lloyd Sigler Spring Meet hosted by the Sea Gulls ... Wesley senior Elizsha Streeter tallied three first-place finishes in the past two weeks. She picked up wins in the 60-meter dash and as part of the 4x400-meter relay team at Ursinus Last Chance Meet while the 4x400-meter relay also won at the George Mason Last Chance Meet ... At North Carolina-Pembroke, Southern Virginia sophomore Sydney Bigelow placed fourth in both the 800 and 1500-meter runs.
