All Seven CAC Members Ranked In The 2013 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup Standings Through Winter Season

Salisbury and Mary Washington are the CAC's top two teams, ranking 38th and 61st, respectively, but all seven member programs are ranked in the top 60% of the 2013 Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings at the completion of the winter championships.

The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a join effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.  Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 NCAA Championship sports.

Salisbury added 67.5 points from the men's and women's indoor track & field championships to the 179 earned during the fall season to rank 38th out of approximately 450 NCAA Division III member institutions with 246.5 points.  The Gulls finished 23rd in the women's indoor track & field championships and 51st in the men's championship.

Mary Washington picked up 91 points at the men's and women's swimming championships, adding to the 83 points earned during the fall season to rank 61st in the overall standings with 174 points entering the spring season.

Wesley ranks third among CAC teams and 120th overall with 95 points.  The Wolverines added 25 points in the winter season thanks to a first-round NCAA Tournament appearance by the men's basketball team.

St. Mary's and Marymount got on the scoreboard during the winter season with NCAA Tournament appearances by their men's and women's basketball teams, respectively.

SMC is fourth in the CAC and 153rd overall with 73 points, earned by the men's basketball team's trip to the Division III Elite 8 round.

Close behind SMC are York, which is 170th overall with 64 points, all earned in the fall season, and Marymount, which is 184th overall with 50 points earned by the women's basketball team's two-game appearance in the national championship tournament.

Frostburg State is tied for 234th with 25 points earned in the fall season.

Christopher Newport, which is in its last year of membership in the USA South Athletic Conference and joining the CAC on July 1, 2013, is 27th in the overall Learfield Sports Directors' Cup standings.  The Captains earned 186 points in the fall season, and added 128 points in the winter by advancing deep into the NCAA men's and women's basketball playoffs.
