Frostburg State Junior Alexandra Darrow and Salisbury Junior Breck Sullivan Earn CAC Field Hockey Weekly Awards

YORK, Pa. -- Frostburg State junior Alexandra Darrow and Salisbury junior Breck Sullivan have been named the CAC Field Hockey Players of the Week for Sept. 22, 2014. 

Offensive Player of the Week

Alexandra Darrow | Frostburg State | Jr. | F

Chesapeake, Va. | Western Branch   

Frostburg State junior Alexandra Darrow was named the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after totaling four goals and one assist as the Bobcats played to a 2-0 week. Darrow scored two goals with one assist in a shutout win over Sweet Briar, beforing contributing two goals in a victory over Hood.

Defensive Player of the Week

Breck Sullivan | Salisbury | Jr. | D

Salisbury, Md. | Parkside 

Salisbury junior Breck Sullivan was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after helping the Salisbury defense surrender just seven total shots in 140 minutes of play in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. Sullivan registered her first defensive save of the season on Saturday, in a 4-1 win against Lynchburg. The defensive save came in the 29th minute, preserving a slim 1-0 lead at the time.

Salisbury is #2, Christopher Newport #9 and Mary Washington #19 in the NFHCA Rankings ... Christopher Newport junior Taylor Williams recorded her first career multi-goal effort after scoring twice, including the game-winner, against Eastern Mennonite ... Ashlin Jones netted a hat trick as #19 Mary Washington topped Eastern Mennonite, 7-1, on Saturday. She doubled her season total in goals, and now has six scores and two assists on the season. Jenna Steele scored the game's lone goal as the Eagles topped Catholic, 1-0, on Wednesday ... St. Mary's senior Olivia Edwards scored twice in a 3-2 win at Bridgewater, including the game-winning goal. Edwards now has a team-best nine goals ... York freshman Ali Posey scored the game-winning goal 3:18 into overtime in a 2-1 win over Elizabethtown. Posey leads the Spartans with 18 points on eight goals and two assists in her first eight collegiate games.
