YORK, Pa. --  Salisbury senior Benjamin Aryeetey and Frostburg State sophomore Hassan Mostafa secured CAC Men's Soccer Player of the Week accolades for Sept. 29, 2014.  

Offensive Player of the Week

Salisbury senior Benjamin Aryeetey was awarded as the CAC Offensive Player of the Week after guiding the Sea Gulls to a 2-0 week with two goals and two assists. Against Roanoke on Wednesday, Aryeetey had a part in all three goals, with an assist on the first goal and two scores of his own, including the game-winner, as Salisbury claimed a 3-1 victory.  In a 3-0 win over Southern Virginia, he added his second assist of the week on the Sea Gulls' second goal.

Frostburg State sophomore Hassan Mostafa was honored as the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after posting two shutout wins on the week. He began the week with nine saves in a slim 1-0 victory over Hood, before opening CAC play with four saves in a 2-0 shutout of Wesley.

Saturday marked the opening day of the CAC season with all 10 teams in conference action ... Christopher Newport is ranked #12 and Salisbury #22 in last week's NSCAA National Rankings ... Christopher Newport (#13) and Salisbury (#15) are also ranked in the D3soccer.com top 25 ...  Christopher Newport senior Jalon Brown scored in both games last week for the nationally-ranked Captains increasing his league-leading scoring total to 19 on eight goals and three assists. His scoring tally against the Spartans was the 40th of his career, moving him up to fourth all-time in goals and points (106) ... Frostburg State has registered four-straight wins, all via shutout ... Mary Washington topped Marymount, 4-0, on Saturday in the CAC opener for both teams ... Matt Braun helped St. Mary's to a CAC-opening win at Penn State Harrisburg with his team-leading fourth goal of the season ... Salisbury's Benjamin Aryeetey leads the squad in points (14), goals (5) and assists (4), all career bests for the senior ... Wesley sophomore Will Mileski scored the game-tying goal in 1-1 tie at Marywood before playing a hand in all three Wesley goals (1g, 2a) in 3-0 win over Cairn ... Ryan Phelps scored York's lone goal in its 1-1 tie at Christopher Newport on Saturday.
