FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- York senior Will Grega and freshman Austin Denlinger have sweep the CAC baseball weekly awards for April 22, 2019.

York's Austin Denlinger has a tremendous week as the Spartans went 5-0 including 3-0 in CAC play. Denlinger hit .474 going 9-for-19 with a triple and two home runs. The freshman shortstop drove in eight runs, scored ten, and also stole three bases on the week.

York senior Will Grega tossed his second complete-game shutout in conference play this weekend in a 7-0 victory over Mary Washington. Grega scattered eight hits in his nine innings while walking none and striking out ten on the day.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Mary Washington's Tyler Ray batted .476 in five games for the week, collecting 10 hits in 21 at bats, including two hits in four of five games. He rapped out three doubles, scoring six runs and driving in three for the Eagles...Salisbury's Justin Meekins combined to go 4-for-9 (.444) in two wins for the Sea Gulls last week. The junior, who started each game in center field, hit two doubles, scored two runs anddrove home a run. He also added a walk and swiped five total bases...Salisbury's Corey Burton earned the first win of his college career on Wednesday, April 17 against Neumann University. The freshman entered the game in the second inning and closed out the final 7 1/3 while striking out six batters and allowing only two earned runs to lead the Sea Gulls to an 11-7 victory....Christopher Newport's Ryan Grubbs reached base at an absurd .750 clip this week with eight hits in 13 at-bats while also drawing three walks and getting hit by four pitches ... Took over as the nation's leader in OBP for the season ... Delivered three extra-base hits including a pair of home runs ... Led team in RBI in a 3-1 week, driving in 9 runs while also scoring 7 times ... Posted three multi-hit games and earned a hit in all four contests this week ... Reached base in all six of his plate appearances against Penn State Harrisburg on Sunday ... Slugged 1.154 for the week...Southern Virginia's Canon Anderson led the Knights this past week collecting four hits earning an average of .444 at the plate. He also hit a home run while driving in four runs.
