YORK, Pa. -- Mary Washington junior Kendall Parker was tabbed as the CAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week for Jan. 9, 2017.

Mary Washington junior Kendall Parker was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after scoring 26 points in each of the Eagles' CAC victories last week, as UMW improved to 13-0 on the season. Parker scored 26 points in 22 minutes in the Eagles' 59-44 win over Salisbury on Thursday night, connecting on 8-of-16 shots, including 5-of-8 three-pointers, and made all five of her free throws. On Saturday at Penn State Harrisburg, Parker single handedly put the Eagles ahead for good, breaking open a tight game with 19 fourth quarter points en route to 26 in all. She made 7-of-13 field goals, including 5-of-8 on three-pointers, and made all seven of her free throws. In addition to shooting 51.7% from the field, and 62.5% from three, and making all 12 of her free throws, she committed just one turnover in the two games.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Christopher Newport and Mary Washington are ranked in both the WBCA and D3hoops.com national rankings. In both polls, CNU is ranked No. 7 by D3hoops.com and No. 8 by the WBCA, while UMW is ranked No. 11 by the WBCA and No. 12  by D3hoops.com ... UMW (13-0, 6-0 CAC) and CNU (13-0, 6-0 CAC) remain unbeaten on the year ... The CNU defense has allowed more than 51 points only twice in 13 games this season. CNU has started the season 13-0 for just the third time in program history. Sam Porter averaged 14.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 steals, and 2.5 assists per game last week in wins over Wesley and Marymount. Porter hit 15-of-17 free throws against Wesley, marking the most made shots from the charity stripe for a Captain in a game since 1994 ... Frostburg State sophomore Victoria Diggs poured in 32 points in the Bobcats' 87-84 2OT loss at Salisbury ... Marymount sophomore Tyffani McQueen led the Saints in scoring in a win over York and a close loss to CNU. Against York, McQueen scored 14 points to go along with four assists, three steals and three rebounds. Against the Captains, she had the hot hand with 15 points and tied career-high with five steals. McQueen currently sits fourth in the league in steals per game with 2.9 ... Penn State Harrisburg senior Kate Carmo averaged 24.0 points and 8.7 rebounds per game in a 2-1 week for the Lions, and surpassed the 1,000-point mark in a loss to Mary Washington. Carmo's 31 point performance against Southern Virginia was a career high ... St. Mary's senior Nina Haller averaged a double-double in a 1-1 week for St. Mary's. Haller started the week with a game-best 21 points and 11 rebounds at Frostburg State before leading the Seahawks to their first road win of the season at Wesley with her fourth double-double of the season, collecting a career-best 17 boards and a game-best 16 points as St. Mary's snapped a four-game skid ... Salisbury senior Lauren Rothfeld averaged 20.0 points-per game while shooting 41.9% from the field last week to lead the Gulls. Her top perfomance came in a double-overtime win against Frostburg State, as she totaled a career-high 26 points and tallied 11 rebounds, four steals, and two assists ... Southern Virginia's Shelby Winsor posted a career-high 25 points at York and double-doubled against William Peace. Winsor leads the team in both PPG (14.2) and RPG (8.2) this season, and ranks third in the CAC in PPG ... York's Beth Wiseley averaged 16.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 1.0 assists, and 1.0 steals while shooting 57.1% from the field in a 1-1 week for the Spartans. Wiseley began the week with 12 points, seven rebounds, and an assist in the loss to Marymount on Wednesday. In Saturday's big win over Southern Virginia, Wiseley had a career-high 21 points to go along with four rebounds, 1 assist, two steals and a blocked shot.

Brionna Johnson averaged 13.0 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 2.0 assists in three games this week helping Wesley to a pair of victories. The senior forward netted 10 points, including the game-winning putback with 1.4 seconds remaining to give Wesley a two-point win over Widener University in the team's season opener.
