YORK, Pa. -- York senior Jess Miller and Salisbury sophomore Meghan McGowan secured CAC Women's Track & Field Athlete of the Week honors for April 14, 2015.

York senior Jess Miller was named CAC Track Athlete of the Week after breaking the CAC and school records in the 10,000 meters at the Bison Outdoor Classic. Miller ran the 10,000 meters in 37:17.88, surpassing the previous CAC mark set in 2006 and breaking her own school record mark of 39:17.20 set in 2013. Her time is the 16th best time in the nation and ranks first in the CAC by a margin of 4:40. 

Field Athlete of the Week

Meghan McGowan | Salisbury | So. 

Odenton, Md. | Arundel

Salisbury sophomore Meghan McGowan earned CAC Field Athlete of the Week for the second straight week after setting a new school record and nabbing a first-place finish in the high jump at the Johns Hopkins/Loyola Invitational on Saturday. McGowan registered a 5'-7.75" leap, which ranks first in the conference and tied for second in the country. Her record-setting performance bested Salisbury's previous top mark by more than an inch.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All seven CAC women's track & field teams were in action this past week ... Salisbury (3rd) and Wesley (5th) registered top-five team placings at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational ... Christopher Newport's Enuma Ezenwa moved into the top-20 nationally in both the 100- and 400-hurdles following her performance during the North Carolina A&T Aggie Invitational ... Frostburg State's Kayla Truesdel ran to an ECAC-qualifying time and third-place finish in the 200-meter dash with a season-best time of 25.76 ... Mary Washington's Sheree Turner captured the school record in the hammer throw at the George Mason Spring Invitational with a toss of 145'-2" ... Wesley's Taylor Rae Danforth set the school record in the hammer throw with a toss of 110'-09.75" at the Hopkins/Loyola Invitational, while Elizsha Streeter won the 200 meter dash and was part of the winning 4x100 relay.
