Christopher Newport Senior Enuma Ezenwa and Salisbury Sophomore Meghan McGowan Selected as CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week
YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport senior Enuma Ezenwa and Salisbury sophomore Meghan McGowan were selected as the CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for April 21, 2015.

Christopher Newport senior Enuma Ezenwa was honored as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week after establishing a new school record in the heptathlon by accumulating 4,509 points during the New Captains Classic. Her mark ranks her first in the conference and ninth in the nation. During the combined event, Ezenwa the top effort in six of the seven disciplines. On the track she won the 800 (2:25.08), 200 (25.75), 100-hurdles (14.89). Additionally, she had the top performance with a 5'-2.25'' clearance in the high jump, a 29'10.75'' throw in the shot put, and a 16' 10.75'' distance in the long jump. She rounded out her record-setting effort with a 66'-7'' throw in the javelin.

Salisbury sophomore Meghan McGowan was selected as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after having another record-breaking performance in the high jump for the second-straight week for the Sea Gulls. McGowan took first in the event with a jump of 5'-8" to break her own school record by a quarter of an inch. The jump keeps her first in the conference and has moved her into a tie for first in the country.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE
All seven CAC women's track & field teams were in action this past week ... CAC teams will compete in their final tune-ups for the CAC Championships this week ... Christopher Newport, Penn State Harrisburg, Salisbury and Wesley will travel to the historic Penn Relays in Philadephia, while Frostburg State and York will compete at the Paul Kaiser Classic at Shippensburg ... The CAC Championship is set for May 2-3 at York ... Freshman Janel Moore helped Mary Washington finish first at the Gettysburg Mason Dixon championships, with three first place finishes on the track. She finished first in the 200 meters at 25.7, and was a part of the winning 4x100 relay with Claire Harrington, Emily Derse, and Bailey Ratliff (50.15) and the 4x400 relay with Harrington, Lewis, and Derse (4.06.6) ... Abby Richards grabbed two placements in the top three for Salisbury in the New Captains Classic at Christopher Newport on Saturday. She took second in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.80 seconds. Richards then set a personal record in the 400-meter hurdles, finishing third in 1:08.57 ... Wesley's Kameko Webb posted the top mark in the CAC in the long jump this spring, traveling 18'-1" at the Morgan State Legacy. Her marks also ranks 21st nationally.
