FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Penn State Harrisburg sophomore Bret Williams and Salisbury senior Connor Reeves were honored as the CAC Baseball Players of the Week for May 7, 2018.

Penn State Harrisburg sophomore Bret Williams collected CAC Player of the Week accolades after hitting three home runs, driving in eight RBIs and scoring eight times in a 3-0 weekend that sent the Lions to the CAC Championship series. In three CAC Tournament games, Williams was 6-for-13 (.462) at the plate with three home runs, two doubles and three walks. For the week, he posted a .563 on-base percentage and a slugging percentage of 1.308.

Salisbury senior Connor Reeves was selected as the CAC Pitcher of the Week for the second time this year after tossing his second complete-game shutout of the season on Friday against York in the opening round of the CAC Tournament. Reeves tied his own season-high with 11 strikeouts while allowing only five hits in his nine innings on the mound. With the win, Reeves ties both the CAC and Salisbury program records for wins in a single season with 12. The total also has him leading Division III baseball in that category.

Top-seeded Salisbury and third-seeded Penn State Harrisburg posted 3-0 records in their respective opening-weekend pods to advance to the CAC Championship series. The Sea Gulls will host the Lions in the best-of-three series beginning on Friday ... The winner of the CAC Championship series will earn the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament ... In the D3baseball.com week 10 rankings, Christopher Newport is No. 5 and Salisbury is No. 21 ... In the ABCA/Collegiate Baseball Poll, Christopher Newport is No. 5 and Salisbury is No. 26 ... Frostburg State senior Colton Sivic recorded at least one hit in all three games last week, including two hits and a three-run home run in CAC Tournament game against York. He posted a.500 average and .875 slugging percentage over the course of the week ... Salisbury senior Scott Ardoin hit .545 and collected six hits, two doubles, a home run, and three RBIs last week in helping the Sea Gulls to a 3-0 record and a spot in the CAC Championship seires. He also scored five runs, drew one walk, and stole a base ... Southern Virginia freshman Canon Anderson was a homer short of hitting the cycle against Penn State Harrisburg, and led the team with five hits last week.
