Salisbury junior Blair Davis earned CAC Player of the Week recognition after averaging 19.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per contest in a 2-0 week for the Sea Gulls. Davis was efficient with his shot, shooting 58.3% (14-for-24) from the field, 50% (3-for-6) from three-point range and 80% (8-for-10) from the free throw line. He opened the week with a then-season-high of 18 points along with three assists and two three-pointers in a 73-50 triumph over St. Mary's. Davis closed out the week with season-highs of 21 points and nine rebounds while registering four steals in a 83-75 road win at Southern Virginia. He provided crucial scoring down the stretch in the win over SVU, scoring 14 points in the second half including six points in the final 1:37 to seal the victory.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Nearly halfway through the conference regular season, York (8-0 CAC) holds a two-game lead atop the standings, with Salisbury in second place at 6-2 ... York is ranked No. 8 in the D3hoops.com national rankings, while Christopher Newport is receiving votes ... York (15-0 overall record) is one of just four remaining unbeaten teams in Division III along with No. 1 Whitman (15-0), No. 10 Wittenberg (15-0) and No. 18 Hamilton (14-0) ... Frostburg State senior Tyler Michael averaged 20.5 points per game in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats, including a 25-point effort on Saturday against Wesley. Michael ranks fourth in the conference in scoring (18.1 PPG) this season. Frostburg State defeated Mary Washington 68-63 last Wednesday ... Junior Johnny Cronin led Mary Washington with a very strong week, scoring 19.0 PPG, adding 5.5 rebounds per game, and shooting 83.3% from the field (15-18). On Wednesday against Frostburg State, Cronin led the Eagles with 18 points in 20 minutes, making 8-of-10 shots. On Saturday against Marymount, he scored a team high 20 points on 7-of-8 shooting, with six rebounds and three steals ... Matt Ayoub helped St. Mary's snap a six-game skid as Ayoub tallied 17 points off the bench at Penn State Harrisburg ... Southern Virginia senior Aarun Rumbaugh led the Knights in both scoring (15.0 ppg) and rebounding (7.0 rpg) last week ... Brian Cameron totaled 51 points in Wesley's split of two games on the week. Cameron shot 53.8% from the field (14-for-26) and was 20-for-22 in free-throws. Cameron also reeled in nine rebounds, assisted on six baskets and stole the ball twice. Cameron leads the CAC in scoring (21.1 ppg) ... York sophomore point guard Jared Wagner led the 8th-ranked Spartans to a pair of critical home wins after returning home from a five game road swing. York defeated Penn State Harrisburg and two-time defending champion CNU by 10 points in a pair of CAC wins this week. Wagner averaged 14.5 points, 4.5 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.5 steals per game for the week. He ranks second in the league in free throws made, second in total assists and assists per game, and is third in steals and steals per game. For the season, Wagner is averaging 12 points, 4.6 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.1 steals per game. He is shooting 46.5% from the floor, 40% from three and 76.6% from the free throw line.
