Kunle Lawson Named Cross Country and Track and Field Coach at Mary Washington

University of Mary Washington Director of Athletics Ken Tyler announced today the appointment of Adekunle Lawson as Head Coach of Men’s and Women’s Track & Field and Cross Country. Lawson replaces long-time coach Stan Soper, who is retiring this spring.

Christopher Newport senior Enuma Ezenwa and Wesley sophomore Elizsha Streeter each won two individual events and finished second in one at the 2015 CAC Women’s Outdoor Track & Field championships. The conference coaches determined that those performances should earn both standouts the 2015 Athlete of the Year award for outdoor women’s track & field.

Four records were broken on day one as the Salisbury women's track & field team jumped out to an early lead at the 2015 CAC Championships in York, Pa. Salisbury totaled 63.33 to claim a commanding early lead, followed by Mary Washington (32), Christopher Newport (19), York (19), Wesley (12), Frostburg State (8) and Penn State Harrisburg (4) in the team standings.
