Southern Virginia Announces Clint May as Cross Country/Track & Field Coach

Southern Virginia University Athletic Director Jason Lamb today announced the hire of Clint May — 18-time Montana Cross Country Champion and 18-time Montana Coach of the Year — as the university's new head coach of the men's and women's cross country, as well as the men's and women's indoor and outdoor track and field programs.

Christopher Newport University junior volleyball/track & field standout Briana Sutton (Williamsburg, Va./Jamestown) was selected by the Capital Athletic Conference athletic directors as the 2015-16 Female Athlete of the Year. Sutton is the inaugural recipient of the award.

Christopher Newport junior Logan Harrington won two individual gold medals and added a third as part of a championship relay to earn the 2016 Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athlete of the Year award, while CNU head coach Tyler Wingard received Coach of the Year accolades for the second straight season. Harrington, Wingard and the Captains won the indoor title for the third straight year this winter.
