YORK, Pa. -- Christopher Newport senior Logan Harrington and Wesley freshman Jasmine Brown were selected as the CAC Women's Track & Field Athletes of the Week for April 4, 2017.

Christopher Newport senior Logan Harrington earned the CAC Track Athlete of the Week accolades for the third time this year after recording the third-fastest time in the nation in the 1500 last Friday at the Colonial Relays. Harrington clocked in at 4:36.08, which placed her first among Division III competitors at the meet. It is also the top time in the CAC by more than seven seconds. On Saturday, she ran the anchor leg of the distance medley relay, which finished second among Division III squads with a time of 12:33.42 at William & Mary.

Wesley freshman Jasmine Brown was selected as the CAC Field Athlete of the Week after finishing second in the long jump and third in the triple jump at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widener. Brown notched a mark of 4.93 meters in the long jump, giving her the top finish among DIII participants. In the triple jump, she recorded a mark of 10.77, which ranks atop the CAC and 47th nationally.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

All eight CAC track & field teams competed last week ... Christopher Newport's Hannah Shoemaker registered the CAC's top effort in the shot put (12.67m) during the Colonial Relays on Saturday ... Frostburg State junior Kayla Truesdel collected two first-place wins in the 100 (12.38) and the 200-meter dashes (25.58) at the Bobcat Invitational. Junior Zoe Harris won the javelin (33.58m) and shot put (10.31m) ... Mary Washington's Avery Haislip won the pole vault at 2.75 meters at the Battleground Relays on Saturday ... At the Colonial Relays, Salisbury's Jamie Farley ran the 200 in 26.56 and the 400 in 1:00.67. Kyleigh Dumas finished third in the pole vault at 10'-6" for the Sea Gulls ... Southern Virginia's Aly Abel finished in seventh place in the 800-meter race with a time of 2:49.04 at the Bobcat Invitational ... Wesley competed at the Danny Curran Invitational at Widner. Elizsha Streeter picked up golds in the 200-meter dash (25.31) and the 400-meter dash (59.23). Streeter has the best time in the Mideast Region in the 200-meters and the fourth best time in the region in the 400-meter dash ... York's Ericka Quenzer set a new school record in the 100 hurdles at the Millersville Metrics on Saturday. Quenzer finished third in the race with a time of 15.70. Her time ranks her fourth in the CAC so far this spring.
