FREDERICKBURG, Va. -- Frostburg State senior Kayla Truesdel and Penn State Harrisburg freshman Sarah Lehman were honored as the CAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week for May 1, 2018.

Frostburg State senior Kayla Truesdel was selected as the CAC Track Athlete of the Week for the fourth time this year after posting the 18th-fastest time in Division III in the 100 meters at the Paul Kaiser Classic. Truesdel sprinted to a season-best mark of 12.16 seconds in the 100, finishing as the top Division III finisher and third overall. She also placed third in the 200-meter dash with an effort of 25.58.

Penn State Harrisburg freshman Sarah Lehman secured CAC Field Athlete of the Week honors for the second time this year after jumping to a mark of 12.18 meters in the triple jump at the Penn Relays last weekend. If not for wind aid, Lehman's mark would have set a new CAC record and ranked No. 2 in the nation this spring. She remains fourth in Division III in the triple jump. Lehman was the first-ever Penn State Harrisburg women's track & field athlete to compete at the historic Penn Relays.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

Six CAC teams competed last week in their final tune-ups for the CAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships ... The CAC Championships will be hosted by Salisbury on May 4-5 ... Mary Washington sophomore Quintasia Horsley picked up a pair of blue ribbons at the UMW Invitational on Saturday, winning the long jump at 16 feet, 4.25 inches and the triple jump at 34 feet, seven inches ... Wesley freshman Briyanna Woods medaled twice at the Delaware Open. She finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 59.14 seconds and second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 26.89 seconds. She was also part of the 4x200-meter relay team that finished 31st at the Penn Relays. Wesley junior Jourdyn Beverly recorded three top-five  finishes at the Delaware Open. Beverly placed second in the shot and hammer throw. She recorded a mark of 11.58 meters in the shot and 41.26 meters in the hammer. She placed fourth in the discus with a heave of 30.77 meters.
