Frostburg State senior Tyler Michael was honored as the CAC Player of the Week after averaging 21.5 points on 63.3% shooting, 5.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 2.5 steals per game in a 2-0 week that included a victory over seventh-ranked York. In the Bobcats' 95-85 win against the nationally-ranked Spartans, Michael posted a well-rounded stat line of 12 points, six rebounds, three assists and a season-high four steals. He closed out the week with a 31-point outburst on 14-of-19 shooting in a 76-72 win at St. Mary's, adding five rebounds, a season-high four assists, a steal and a block.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

York (10-2 CAC) holds a one-game lead atop the standings, with Christopher Newport and Salisbury both one game back at 9-3 in CAC play ... York is ranked No. 7 in the D3hoops.com national rankings ... CNU has won four straight games. Aaron McFarland led the Captains to wins over St. Mary's and Wesley with averages of 18.0 points and 5.5 rebounds per game ... Senior Eric Shaw led Mary Washington to a pair of wins this week, averaging 21.5 PPG while shooting 61.9% from the field as the Eagles ran their win streak to three straight. Shaw scored 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting as the Eagles topped Southern Va. on Wednesday, 65-48, connecting on his lone three-point attempt and making all four of his free throw attempts. On Saturday at Salisbury, he helped UMW snap a 10-game losing streak to the Sea Gulls, making 6-of-9 field goals and making 11-of-14 free throws for 24 points in an 88-82 win ... Matt Ayoub poured in a career-best 26 points against Frostburg State. Ayoub dropped 20 alone in the second half as he scored 15 in a 19-6 run which gave St. Mary's its one and only lead of the game with 2:45 remaining. Ayoub connected on career-bests of eight field goals and seven three-pointers while adding four rebounds and three steals ... Salisbury senior Chad Barcikowski netted a career-high 31-points in a loss to Mary Washington on Saturday. The 31 points surpasses his previous season-high of 29 against the College of Staten Island earlier this season. For the week, Barcikowski averaged 24 points per game and posted a shooting percentage of 46.9 from the field and 6-of-17 mark from beyond the arc. He currently leads all Salisbury players with a 17.1 point per game average and ranks fifth in the CAC ... Southern Virginia freshman Jaron Anderson scored 13 of his team-high 16 points in the second half of a 69-62 win against Penn State Harrisburg ... Wesley sophomore Brian Cameron recorded his fourth 30-plus point game with a 30-point effort against Penn State Harrisburg. Cameron leads the CAC in scoring, averaging 21.6 points per game ... York senior Blayde Reich scored his 1,000th career point in the Spartans' win over Marymount, becoming the 24th Spartan to reach the 1,000 career point club. Reich averaged 15.5 points and 7.5 rebounds while shooting 66.7% from the floor and 78.6% from the free throw line in a 1-1 week.
