FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- Mary Washington junior Khiorie Stewart was tabbed as the CAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for Feb. 5, 2018.

Mary Washington junior Khiorie Stewart was tabbed as the CAC Player of the Week after leading the Eagles to a pair of CAC wins with averages of 17.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and a steal per game while shooting 73.7% from the field and 62.5% from three-point land in just 18.0 minutes per game. Stewart shot 5-for-8 from the field en route to 12 points in a 68-54 win at St. Mary's on Wednesday. He then erupted for 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting, including 13 straight in the middle of the second half, to help spur the Eagles to a 91-70 win over Penn State Harrisburg on Saturday. For the week, he was 14-for-19 from the field and 5-for-8 on three-pointers.

NOTES AROUND THE CONFERENCE

York (12-2 CAC) holds a two-game lead atop the standings, with Christopher Newport, Mary Washington, and Salisbury in a three-way tie for second place at 10-4 ... York is ranked No. 10 in the D3hoops.com national rankings ... Frostburg State sophomore Lawrence Pettis, Jr. totaled 45 points in a 1-1 week for the Bobcats. Pettis has scored over 20 points in five of the last six games and in those five, he is averaging 23.6 points and 5.6 assists per contest ... Marymount sophomore Ibrahim Kamara tied his career high in points in Saturday's victory over CNU with 20 points - the other time he knocked in 20 points was in the first half of CAC play at home against the Captains. For the week, he averaged 17 ppg on 63.6% shooting while adding 4.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 0.5 blocks. It's the first time in program history the Saints swept the Captains in the regular season. Junior Brandon Rogers dropped in the game-winning three pointer from the top of the key with seven seconds remaining ... Salisbury sophomore James Foley netted a team-high 17 points in a 77-70 victory over Frostburg State, scoring 12 of his 17 in the second half ... Southern Virginia's Aarun Rumbaugh averaged 14.5 points, 9.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists last week in a 1-1 week for the Knights. Rumbaugh leads the team with 12.3 points and 7.7 rebounds per game this season ... Wesley set a new program record for assists with 30 assists in Saturday's win over St. Mary's. Mychal Stefanides totaled 32 points, 14 assists, seven rebounds and five steals on the week ... York posted a pair of wins to remain atop the CAC standings. Senior Dalton Myers averaged 16.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 1.0 blocked shots, and 0.5 steals per game to lead the Spartans.
